MOOE House by FCP Arquitectura

Description by FCP Arquitectura A large volume of white extended walls that recreates the trees on the lot preserving family privacy that connects with portions of forest … lots of heaven … lots of water. The lot is located in a gated neighborhood near the central area of the city of Córdoba and it showed great contrasts … .an irregular exposing corner lot that challenged us to preserve home life … .an ancient dense forest of native trees occupied half of the land, opposite to a plain stripped of vegetation. The challenge and exploration of the work aimed to amalgamate the light of the land with the programmatic needs of housing … the forest, its shadow, its intimacy … and the plain, its light, its expansion as a vacuum to overturn in architecture. A serene family life of four members with an active social life. Thus, the skin is the [ Continue reading ]

Fall Kitchen And Bathroom Decor

When it comes to kitchen and bathroom it is a little bit difficult to think about fall decor, but not impossible. I’ve done some research and I found some cute ideas. The first one is to make toothbrushes, cotton pads, candles holder *for bathroom*, and supports for salt, pepper and sugar for the kitchen; Paint some vases where you can put flowers for both bathroom and kitchen; As I said before, about the bedroom and living room decor, paintings are a good idea also for bathroom and kitchen, but in my opinion this time it should only contain quotes.

How To Create Your Dream Veranda

We don’t see everyday houses with balconies big enough to allow more than a chair, and maybe that’s why are less design ideas for balconies or verandas. Here are some ideas of how you can decorate your balcony/veranda. 1.Take attention to the floor 2. Climb plants on the walls; 3.Make yourself a cozy place by bringing your inside chairs, pillows and blankets outside; 4.Create contrast to make it look bigger than it is; I will show you some photos to see how these ideas would look.

Industrial Inspired Apartment with Meeting Room

Once part of a tenement house built in 1912, this apartment, rearranged by Polish architect Maciej Kurkowski has lived numerous modernizations, process that led to a much plainer structure. In 2013, the upper floor of the building is adopted in order to create an apartment and a conference room. The designers found adequate preserving the raw aspect of the original interiors, so they depicted a plan that kept the initial semblance. The revamp adopt a minimalistic layout, grasping the primary facet of the scope. Simplistic lighting and black ceilings for eye-catching effect, combined with the light-gray walls produce an aura of avant-garde. To enrich the ambience with a bit of tenderness, birch plywood panels are brought in, assembled in triangular shapes. The monochromatic outline was established to ensure a mild picture that eventually harnessed the colourfullness of several abstract works of art. The wide slot has an uncontestable equilibrium. Hence, a [ Continue reading ]

Miller’s House by asdfg Architekten

Description by asdfg Architekten The history and special situation of the building was a big challenge, but we also saw a high potential in it to become a very unique single family house with a garden in the center of one of the most popular neighbourhoods of Berlin. As it is the oldest building of Prenzlauer Berg, the authorities requested us to reconstruct the facade of the heritage-protected building precisely as depicted on an historical drawing from the year 1844. We wanted to show the history of the old building without pretending that the facade would be 170 years old. Our concept was to interpret the lines in the historical drawing as differences in the height of a stucco facade using ancient techniques and materials. In an architectural drawing a line could be interpreted in different ways; as a gap in the wall, a section line or a difference in [ Continue reading ]

An Old Door Design

I found a nice solid old door at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore for just a couple of dollars.   The door just happened to be the exact width of two craft crates that I got on sale. I went to the hardware store and got one board to top off the crates and one for a shelf. I replaced the glass with bead board… it was more practical. And then Lots and lots of paint… First I painted everything with black acrylic paint I had left over from another project. Then when that dried I coated everything with a white satin acrylic paint. I put it all together with some brackets and hooks and decorative knobs I got 75% off at the craft store. I then distressed it lightly and glazed it with Valspar Antiquing Glaze. I really like it because I wanted it more black and white than [ Continue reading ]

A New Concept – UFO Floating House

With the sea level rising as a result of global warming, the low-lying, peolple found an alteternative for the conventional houses on the ground. The floating house is not a new concept, but some architects took it at a new level – The UFO Floating House. While you can always head for the hills to wait out the apocalypse, a more stylish option could be a fully sustainable floating home from Italian mini yacht-maker Jet Capsule. The company has drawn up a concept for a saucer-shaped UFO, or Unidentified Floating Object, which offers a completely off-grid existence floating on the ocean. The  company’s co-founders, Pierpaolo Lazzarini and Luca Solla, the UFO is intended for “living in a floating house and moving slowly around the world.” “Slowly” in this case means a leisurely maximum speed of 3.5 knots (6.5 km/h, 4 mph), using a waterjet-propelled Torqeedo Deep Blue 1800 electric motor.
