Miller’s House by asdfg Architekten

Description by asdfg Architekten The history and special situation of the building was a big challenge, but we also saw a high potential in it to become a very unique single family house with a garden in the center of one of the most popular neighbourhoods of Berlin. As it is the oldest building of Prenzlauer Berg, the authorities requested us to reconstruct the facade of the heritage-protected building precisely as depicted on an historical drawing from the year 1844. We wanted to show the history of the old building without pretending that the facade would be 170 years old. Our concept was to interpret the lines in the historical drawing as differences in the height of a stucco facade using ancient techniques and materials. In an architectural drawing a line could be interpreted in different ways; as a gap in the wall, a section line or a difference in [ Continue reading ]

Dream House Or Movie House?

Have you ever watched a movie with no luxurious apartments or houses? Is there anyone in this world who can say “I’ve never seen a beautiful house in a movie’? I think I know the question. HMM… NOO!? I also know for sure that a dream house is actually a movie house (that house with the best design in the world which we see in the movies, with a big pool in the garden, with a design that reminds us of a castel) Here are some architects that can make everything in your house look like those in the movies: –David Collins –David Chipperfield –Duggan Morris –Wells Mackereth My favorite movie houses are those with big windows from which you can see the forest, those with big gardens surrounded by plants. The house from Twilight is one that I can take as a mark. Which is yours?

Modern Industrial Home With Purple Accented Features

Purple is the theme in this home and its exterior is made completely of glass from top to bottom. Designed and built in Dielsdorf, Switzerland in 2014; its modern design combines the industrial look that the concrete floors and ceiling provides with the homely vibe that the purple colored furniture brings in. It is this unique aspect that gives this home a very unique feel that blends and clashes together quite well. The exterior ground is lined with stone which polishes off the sleek look that the designer is aiming for. The glass walls throughout the home allow plenty of sun light to shine through. This is highlighted by the study/lounge area which is protruding from the second floor. This room is completely enclosed in glass which lets all of the light in from every direction. It is great for those days that you wish to enjoy the outdoors but [ Continue reading ]

Dark Rooms

Christopher Leach once told us, ‘be brave and decorate with dark color. It doesn’t mean you will end up with a room of Stygian gloom. If a space doesn’t receive much natural light, there is no jolly yellow or bright white on earth that will remedy it.’ Black was always my go-to color, my favorite one, so that’s why I thought about talking about dark rooms, black walls. Cause why not? If you are stylish enough, and you know how to make it work, your room won’t look grungy, but intimate, romantic.

Romanian vs American Tradional kitchen

The kitchen is probably the place where you can find out good stories, where family meet at the end of the day. There are not so many things to say about this two type of kitchens: If you are Romanian, as I am, you know for sure how it looks: a lot of wood, traditional carpet, painted pots. The American one has the little bar where you can prepare food, surrounded by chairs, it is as simple as possible, not too many colors. The styles of these two are totally different, the american one is as luxurious as possible, with modern furniture, but the romanian one is simple, is trying to put in value the traditional style of Romania (a lot of colors, nature, wood, brick). I love the romanian one more, because of its positive vibe.

Modern Bathrooms

The bathroom is the place where we can relax and put the things in order in our mind. For me, the bathroom should be a clean and luminous space which will calm me whenever I open the door. I always imagined myself having a shower/bath surrounded by plants and bright colors. I don’t know why, but I always wanted my bathroom to be in black and white, if possible more white. I will show you some pictures with bathrooms that I like and I want to know if you like them too, or what kind of bathrooms would you like? My choice, as I said before, is a clean, white with plants bathroom + a big mirror!!

Top 7 Home Architecture Designs

1.Modern Single-Story Cubical House With a Metal Facade in Cologne Clustered in the middle of a beautiful natural resort , the design of the modern dwelling manages to paradoxically adapt to the green breadth . The aim of the architects of the following single-story cubical house in Bologne , Germany , by Gatterman , Schossig , was to ensure a splendid indoor-outdoor connection and blaze a self contained apartment . By inserting a consistent metal façade , the architects attained a discreet contrast to the contrarily chromatic X1 mansion , a valuable legacy residence that was built by Peter Neufert on the property back in 1959 . The current abode offers two high rooms , each with vast panorama of the neighboring park close-by. The plenitude of the transparent surfaces of the house permit the inhabitants to admire the charm of the surrounding nature . Moreover , the amplitude of [ Continue reading ]
