In an ordinary world springps up artists who color our life everyday: the architects. This inspiring lakeside retreat is situated in Harbert, Michigan, United States and it is designed by Wheeler Kearns Architects. The dining room suggests simplicity and the family harmony by means of furniture pieces and floor to ceiling windows are the predominant element in the room, celebrating the movement of the sun thoughout the day. Well, this is the place where you can relax afer work, read books or enjoy the sunset with people you love. The stairs are the line between the dining room and the kitchen, supported by stainless steel cables which blends harmoniously both wood floor and kitchen furniture. The shades of grey of the sofa and the chairs are in acordance with the fireplace, suggesting peace, elegance, comfort, a space where you can meditate.

Lightbox House by Edwards Moore

The midget single-storey terrace house, dwarfed by the surroundings makes a splash in the encompassing borderlands. Aiming to exploit the modest space, the designer ofthe Lightbox successfully harnessed the scope. To sweeten the atmosphere, wide windows have been introduced in order to let the sunbeam accompany the ambience of the dwelling. The desire to enhance the quality of the living spaces within contributes to increasing the hospitality of the crib. The second floor should only be seen as a horizontal plane within the home, but as a vertical space, having considered the feeling of unity that its existence contributes to creating the impression of spaciousness. The see-through skin boasts the medium with natural light and the strategically installed openings provide an inner landscape. The fully-white painted walls empower the effect of wideness, inducing a flavor of tastefullness and roominess. The minimalistic features and wood inserts construct a breezy ambience and [ Continue reading ]

Dark Rooms

 Christopher Leach once told us, ‘be brave and decorate with dark color. It doesn’t mean you will end up with a room of Stygian gloom. If a space doesn’t receive much natural light, there is no jolly yellow or bright white on earth that will remedy it.’ Black was always my go-to color, my favorite one, so that’s why I thought about talking about dark rooms, black walls. Cause why not? If you are stylish enough, and you know how to make it work, your room won’t look grungy,but intimate,romantic.

The Hallway

You really need a classy,stylish hallway for your home. I am here to help if you don’t know what to do about that. Here are some essentials for your hallway, so that it will thank you: 1. A chandelier; 2. A mirror; 3. A pattern wall 4. Photoframes Your hallway will describe the entire house, so be careful not to fill it with things that doesn’t need to be there. One more important thing to know, don’t forget about places to put your shoes and outwears. ;

Feel Nature In Your House

Supporting the environment and natural beauty is one thing when you are laying on the beach watching the waves lap onto the shore or when you are high atop a mountain surveying the land below. In your house or apartment, nature can be a bit of a tricky beast. After all, while your dog might be more than welcome in your bed, any other critter from outside would be an infestation. So how can you make your home more nature-friendly while still protecting its sanctity and design? Try a vertical garden. These walls planted with greenery are not just beautiful with their vibrant leaves, but they also serve as natural air filters by ‘breathing in’ carbon dioxide and ‘breathing out’ pure, fresh oxygen. Let’s take a look! I found this idea very interesting so I was glad to present it to you hoping that this will catch your attention! If [ Continue reading ]

Modern Industrial Home With Purple Accented Features

Purple is the theme in this home and its exterior is made completely of glass from top to bottom. Designed and built in Dielsdorf, Switzerland in 2014; its modern design combines the industrial look that the concrete floors and ceiling provides with the homely vibe that the purple colored furniture brings in. It is this unique aspect that gives this home a very unique feel that blends and clashes together quite well. The exterior ground is lined with stone which polishes off the sleek look that the designer is aiming for. The glass walls throughout the home allow plenty of sun light to shine through. This is highlighted by the study/lounge area which is protruding from the second floor. This room is completely enclosed in glass which lets all of the light in from every direction. It is great for those days that you wish to enjoy the outdoors but [ Continue reading ]

Eclectic In Soft Shades

This is what eclectic means to me: soft shades, different textures, colored wallpapers. This also sends me to think about the scandinavian style I spoke about in a previous article, about simple furniture, but with a little bit of color. Eclectic means to choose what you love from a lot of other styles and put it together to form your own style.

Elegant Economy

1.Create your own design with plain tiles in contrasting colours rather than buying more expensive patterned ones; 2. Elevate a simple sofa with upholstery and cushions; 3.Smart details, such as the pie-crust edge on this chair cushion, make all the difference when upcycling charity-shop finds; 4.Patterned paintrollers give walls a decorative effect that is more affordable than wallpaper.
