House Renovation by +Tongtong Architects

Description by +Tongtong Multidisciplinary design studio +tongtong recently completed a renovation and addition to a traditional Victorian house in Toronto. The house was transformed into an open and bright modern home through a series of strategic moves and incisions. The specifications were to build a modern family home that expands the area of livable space while remaining true to the vernacular of the neighborhood. This challenge was met with an emphasis on natural materials and light. Inspired by rural living and the original build date of the home, industrial materials accentuate re-imagined architectural qualities in an unmistakable contemporary space. Grey and black zinc used throughout both the exterior and interior of the home is a material that blends traditional aspects with the new contemporary scheme. Inside, a vertical shaft brings light from large skylights down 3 floors illuminating the ground floor while animating a zinc wall and ceiling above the [ Continue reading ]

Home offices

An office in the house should not miss at anyone’s place. It is the place where we can carry out the work , where children can do their homework or read quietly their favorite book . Of course , a mini – library should not miss in the office , because it will store the books we need. The computer is also a must have in this setting . You should know that without things like paper , notebooks, pens , we can’t finish the job, but the ideal is to store it in special boxes that do not occupy much room . For this, there are many DIY projects . Maybe it will even show you how to make a storage box office . The windows need to be as large  as possible and the desk where we do our work must focus on natural light . Now , [ Continue reading ]

Modern Home Appearance With a Futuristic Feel

This is a modern two story home that is located in Fitzroy Park in London, United Kingdom. It was designed by Stanton Williams. This home sits in a beautiful garden surrounded by trees, ferns and grass throughout the lawn. It has a sound barrier wall which stretches across the outskirts of the property. These walls provide privacy for the residents which block the view going to the home of the glass walls. This allows the residents of the home to keep their blinds open to let sunshine in throughout the day without sacrificing their privacy. The first thing you will notice when you walk into the home is the planet-styled lighting. There are several lights that hang from the ceiling which are encased inside cylindrical shells. This disperses the light and gives it a futuristic feel. Another interesting feature in this home is the hanging fireplace. The fireplace hangs from [ Continue reading ]

Penthouses from different parts of the world

Definition of penthouse: a penthouse is an apartment on the highest floor of an apartment building. Penthouses are typically differentiated from other apartments by luxury feature. Penthouses are a dream for every single human being on earth, but they are a reality just for a millionaire or billionaire. I made a top 5 penthouses from different parts of the world for you. Please, let me know which one of them you liked the most. 1. Clermont Residence, Singapore 2. Opus Hong Kong, Hong Kong One 3. Thousand Museum Condos, Miami 4. One Hyde Park, London 5. One Madison, New York These penthouses are value from $43 million to $227 million. A real fortune, but they are stunning, absolutely gorgeous. My favorite one is, of course, the one in Singapore.

Contemporary Wall Art

Wall art is something that shouldn’t miss in your house. Even if you have just one, or one for every wall- it shouldn’t miss. Contemporary wall art give your home a little spice, you know, like that type of meal which can’t be eaten without a little bit of salt and pepper. Nowadays, art has been improved and now it has become irreplaceable. Some wall art make you feel like you’re living in other universe, especially the 3D ones. Contemporary wall art is usually a picture divided in 2 or more parts or some quotes painted on the wall. It can be also something geometrical, abstract. Imagine yourself staying on the sofa in your living room, watching at your contemporary 3D nature wall art… it will instant teleport you in the heart of a forest. How cool? If you want something original, you can find your favorite landscape, or [ Continue reading ]

A New Concept – UFO Floating House

With the sea level rising as a result of global warming, the low-lying, peolple found an alteternative for the conventional houses on the ground. The floating house is not a new concept, but some architects took it at a new level – The UFO Floating House. While you can always head for the hills to wait out the apocalypse, a more stylish option could be a fully sustainable floating home from Italian mini yacht-maker Jet Capsule. The company has drawn up a concept for a saucer-shaped UFO, or Unidentified Floating Object, which offers a completely off-grid existence floating on the ocean. The  company’s co-founders, Pierpaolo Lazzarini and Luca Solla, the UFO is intended for “living in a floating house and moving slowly around the world.” “Slowly” in this case means a leisurely maximum speed of 3.5 knots (6.5 km/h, 4 mph), using a waterjet-propelled Torqeedo Deep Blue 1800 electric motor.
