Monchrome Home

Recently, I collected a lot of  photos with monochrome homes and I decided to put a photo with every room in the house and create my own house combining photos from different houses. First of all, I chose this living room, because it is almost all black and intimate. Of couse, I choose an all white bedroom, because you know me, my love for all white rooms. The kitchen is more white, with different textures. All blue for the bathroom, to make me feel like I am beside the ocean every time I have a shower.

Ecological Houses

In another post of mine I spoke about how to incorporate the nature in your house if you love it so much and you want to live around a forest, or surrounded by flowers and plants. I also think that if you love nature you should choose an ecological house. What is actually this ecological house? An ecological house is modeled on the energy and material flows of natural ecosystems, and thus enhances rather than degrades the environment. . It also produces resources, or at least gathers and stores more of them than it uses. The “extra” resources are distributed back into the larger environment to support life elsewhere. How does it sound to you? To me, it sounds like living a more healthy life, because by building a house like this you will help the environment, you will reduce the amount of pollution. Do you want this type of [ Continue reading ]

A New Concept – UFO Floating House

With the sea level rising as a result of global warming, the low-lying, peolple found an alteternative for the conventional houses on the ground. The floating house is not a new concept, but some architects took it at a new level – The UFO Floating House. While you can always head for the hills to wait out the apocalypse, a more stylish option could be a fully sustainable floating home from Italian mini yacht-maker Jet Capsule. The company has drawn up a concept for a saucer-shaped UFO, or Unidentified Floating Object, which offers a completely off-grid existence floating on the ocean. The  company’s co-founders, Pierpaolo Lazzarini and Luca Solla, the UFO is intended for “living in a floating house and moving slowly around the world.” “Slowly” in this case means a leisurely maximum speed of 3.5 knots (6.5 km/h, 4 mph), using a waterjet-propelled Torqeedo Deep Blue 1800 electric motor. Lightbox House by Edwards Moore

The midget single-storey terrace house, dwarfed by the surroundings makes a splash in the encompassing borderlands. Aiming to exploit the modest space, the designer ofthe Lightbox successfully harnessed the scope. To sweeten the atmosphere, wide windows have been introduced in order to let the sunbeam accompany the ambience of the dwelling. The desire to enhance the quality of the living spaces within contributes to increasing the hospitality of the crib. The second floor should only be seen as a horizontal plane within the home, but as a vertical space, having considered the feeling of unity that its existence contributes to creating the impression of spaciousness. The see-through skin boasts the medium with natural light and the strategically installed openings provide an inner landscape. The fully-white painted walls empower the effect of wideness, inducing a flavor of tastefullness and roominess. The minimalistic features and wood inserts construct a breezy ambience and [ Continue reading ]

Interior Courtyard

A garden in the house? Sounds a little bit strange, I know, but for me this is again an original idea which inspires and makes me to want increasingly more to live in a house, not in an apartment. What could be better than sitting in the living room, on a winter evening, relaxing with a cup of hot chocolate and surround a small garden with plants? I do not find it difficult to maintain, as long as it isn’t large and occupies only a small part of your space. I said this too in previous articles and I think it is something worth to remind when decorating our space: feng shui encourage the use of many herbs and natural elements to decorate the house , so a kindergarten inside the living room does not sound bad at all , right?
