Miller’s House by asdfg Architekten

Description by asdfg Architekten The history and special situation of the building was a big challenge, but we also saw a high potential in it to become a very unique single family house with a garden in the center of one of the most popular neighbourhoods of Berlin. As it is the oldest building of Prenzlauer Berg, the authorities requested us to reconstruct the facade of the heritage-protected building precisely as depicted on an historical drawing from the year 1844. We wanted to show the history of the old building without pretending that the facade would be 170 years old. Our concept was to interpret the lines in the historical drawing as differences in the height of a stucco facade using ancient techniques and materials. In an architectural drawing a line could be interpreted in different ways; as a gap in the wall, a section line or a difference in [ Continue reading ]

Nirvana Bathtub Design

This more-than-modern bathtub design was inspired by the intention of reproducing the nightsky into the small “universe” of your restroom. This very model is one of the winners of The Red Dot Award 2009. The following design was conceived by Bathroom Tomorrow, a Thai company from Bangkok. The “Nirvana” Bathtub succeeds in merging the state-of-the-art technology only to offer you a memorable bathing experience. Because of its bizzare shape, this bathtub only uses 40 % of the water that an average bathtub does, aspect that makes it sustainable too. LEDs all over the surface establish the wonderful effect from the pictures. An i-Touch system controlls the lights that the company promotes. What else could be said about this allurign bathtub ?! Apartments designed for young families

When you are just married and you will finally buy your own house for living with your husband/wife you want to find the perfect one. At first, I advise you to search for smaller apartments, not bigger ones but designed for younger people. For example, a bathroom equipped. When buying a house for a younger family I think about investing a lot in the technology, not the house itself. I mean, smart lights and TVs, a music player and a lot of gadgets. I also think about making the home more cozy, use a lot of photos with us in house, try to use more colors for room décor and also personalize it for your own pleasure. Your bedroom should be technology-free, just a place where you two can relax and talk about future plans. Feel it with plants to send you more energy by only looking at them, and [ Continue reading ]

By The River

One of my biggest dreams is to live beside the seaside, the river, somewhere surrounded by water. I don’t dream about a big, luxurious house, but a small and modest one with big windows from where I can see the sunset and the sunrise every single day. The house I just described is scandinavian style. They can  make a room with a simple white sofa, some white sheer curtains and a birch coffee table, look the most elegant and comfortable space !
