How to achieve a bohemian style for your home

The definition of a bohemian style sounds like this: ‘In modern usage, the term “Bohemian” is applied to people who live unconventional, usually artistic, lives.’ So, if you love flowers, bright colors, you like your mattresses low, and your canopies high you should adopt a bohemian style for your home. I am here to help you how to achieve this style. I promise this is not as difficult as it seems to be. First of all, for a bohemian style you should: -Mix as many patterns as you like; -Use some colorful pillows to make you feel more relaxed; – Pay special attention to the walls; -Choose the perfect bed (it will be your sanctuary); -Include a rustic headboard in the décor; -Use an old window as a frame; -Pick a rug with a bold pattern; Keep in mind that bohemian style is for people who think outside the box [ Continue reading ]

An Old Door Design

I found a nice solid old door at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore for just a couple of dollars.   The door just happened to be the exact width of two craft crates that I got on sale. I went to the hardware store and got one board to top off the crates and one for a shelf. I replaced the glass with bead board… it was more practical. And then Lots and lots of paint… First I painted everything with black acrylic paint I had left over from another project. Then when that dried I coated everything with a white satin acrylic paint. I put it all together with some brackets and hooks and decorative knobs I got 75% off at the craft store. I then distressed it lightly and glazed it with Valspar Antiquing Glaze. I really like it because I wanted it more black and white than [ Continue reading ]

Avant-Garde Desk

If you work from home, this desk design will surely suit you and your habits. It can be called an uncommon desk as it is both practical and bizarre. Conceived by Victor Klassen, this peculiar desk it’s made from high quality wood material. It can be bought in two different colours- natural and expresso stains. Its soft edges establish a sophisticated ambience within the space of your office, creating the perfect environment for total efficiency. Working will no longer be such a chore for you. The specific chaos of the desk will no longer be your problem. This design provides you enough space for all your files and your laptop or computer. Furthermore, you get extra storing space for the papers in the drawers of the desk. This model can be installed on the wall so you will save lots of space to use it for anything you like. Aren’t you [ Continue reading ]

How to decorate your kid’s room

When it comes to decorate your kid’s room, you want to do everything to make him/her happy and comfortable in the room. If you ask them what they want, they would probably say : a house tree, a room where I can play with my friends, for example a slide in the room, a painted wallpaper and you are probably going a little bit scared, because a house tree in a room doesn’t sound as a good idea, neither a slide. I just think that making your kid happy with his/hers room implies doing anything different if necessary. Here are some cool and ideas for your lovely child:

Christmas Room Decor

Decorating the bedroom it’s the easiest part when it comes to decorate regardless of any season. The first decoration I thought about when it comes to your bedroom it was about the bed sheets. Choose one with Christmas motifs and some pillowcases with messages like: HoHoHo, Let it snow, Merry X-mas, etc. Another must-have for this season is the decorated table; with seasonal candles, globes, pin cones. Above the bed you can personalize some Christmas Tree Lights (I will show you in a sooner post how to do it) If you want to decorate your children’s room you can also opt for an Advent Calendar which, honestly I think it is as beautiful for the adults.

Feel Nature In Your House

Supporting the environment and natural beauty is one thing when you are laying on the beach watching the waves lap onto the shore or when you are high atop a mountain surveying the land below. In your house or apartment, nature can be a bit of a tricky beast. After all, while your dog might be more than welcome in your bed, any other critter from outside would be an infestation. So how can you make your home more nature-friendly while still protecting its sanctity and design? Try a vertical garden. These walls planted with greenery are not just beautiful with their vibrant leaves, but they also serve as natural air filters by ‘breathing in’ carbon dioxide and ‘breathing out’ pure, fresh oxygen. Let’s take a look! I found this idea very interesting so I was glad to present it to you hoping that this will catch your attention! If [ Continue reading ]
